I am Dr. Proteeti Bhattacharjee a Kathak dancer and a Scientist from New Delhi, India. Since the past five years, I work at Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Ziekenhuis – Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam as Scientific Programme and Communications Manager for International Breast Cancer Research Consortia.
Kathak, also famously known as the dance of storytellers, is a centuries old Indian classical dance form that originated in northern part of the country. Graceful movements, strong footwork and quick pirouettes are some of the unique elements of Kathak today. I have been trained in this art form for more than 20 years under the
tutelage of my guru Smt.
Vaswati Misra. I hold a diploma from the prestigious Kathak Kendra, New Delhi and Visharad under Guru-Shishya Parampara from Pandit Shambhu Maharaj Kathak Academy, New Delhi. I have imparted Kathak lessons and organized several workshops in Germany and Netherlands in the past 15 years and have performed professionally in India, South America, and Europe.
If you are interested to learn Kathak or know more about Indian classical music and dance, you are welcome to join me for my class.
Kind regards, Proteeti
